Pelican Crappie Club 2025 Rules and Regulations
Section 1: Membership
- Definition: For the purposes of all matters pertaining to S.H.I.P. Enterprises, LLC, membership shall be defined as: Anyone serving in an official capacity as a member of the Board of Directors, a paid member of the club, vendor or sponsor. All members must
agree to abide by the Code of Conduct as set forth in the membership agreement and agree to follow all rules and regulations.
b) Cost: All members participating as a contestant in any event will be required to pay a
membership fee of $50.00 (USD) prior to being eligible to participate in any competition.
Payment of the membership fee activates immediate membership that will remain in
place for the entirety of the 2025 season, unless the membership status is revoked by the
Board of Directors. Members choosing the register online will be subject a transaction
fee. (Exceptions do apply – see below.)
c) Exceptions to Membership Fees: Youth anglers below the age of 17 are not required to
pay for an individual membership fee. Their membership will fall in place with the adult
they are competing with.
d) Waiving of Membership Fees: The Board of Directors reserves the right to waive the
cost of the 2025 membership fees at any time should certain circumstances exist.
e) Reimbursement: Membership fees are non-refundable unless it is deemed so necessary
by the Board of Directors. Removal of membership status either voluntarily or
involuntarily by the member does not substantiate reimbursement.
f) Membership Denial: S.H.I.P. Enterprises, LLC reserves the right to deny a membership
if so deemed necessary by the Board of Directors. Reasons for membership denial
include but are not limited to: Any angler or competitor ever accused of cheating, lying,
stealing, bribing or attempted bribing of a tournament official, or any other rule violation
as it pertains to the sport of tournament fishing where the angler was not cleared.
g) Membership Revocation: Any member found have to have intentionally violated any
element of the Code of Conduct, rules or regulations, federal or state laws, filed false
grievances, or to have brought unnecessary drama within the club is subject to having
their 2025 membership revoked. The Board if Directors must vote unanimously and all
decisions are final. Members will have the opportunity to present evidence on their behalf
prior to their membership being revoked if deemed necessary by the Board of Directors.
Section 2: Board of Directors
a) Definition: For the purposes of all matters pertaining to S.H.I.P. Enterprises, LLC, the
Board of Directors shall be defined as: A designated group of individuals who are
responsible for the enforcement and interpretation of the rules, collection and
disbursement of funds, permitting and licensing, organizing and officiating events,
and ensuring the integrity of this association is not compromised. Members of the Board
of Directors will be fair and impartial in all decisions, with the best interest of the club as
a whole in mind.
b) Compensation: The Board of Directors will be compensated at the conclusion of each
event as agreed upon. The rate must be reasonable, cover travel expenses, and must be
accompanied by a 10-99 after obtaining $600.00 (USD) or more.
c) Consultation with Member-Elected Representatives: The B.O.D. will consult
with two members (1 pro & 1 am) that were elected at the Membership Registration
Meeting prior to making any changes that may affect the anglers within the club. The
elected members must be non-bias in providing advice to the Board of Directors and do
do their best to represent the overall view of the other members within each division.

Section 3: Announcement of Events and Meetings
- S.H.I.P. Enterprises, LLC, will hold a meeting on Saturday, December 14, 2024 at 10:00
at K&M Café in Farmerville, LA. Paid members and the Board of Directors will have the
opportunity to voice concerns or suggestions for the 2025 season. Members must be
physically present to have a vote in any matter placed on the ballot. Majority rule will be
considered when voting, but the Board of Directors has the final say if for some
reason the majority decision needs to be overturned.
b) The Tournament Director and Assistant Director are responsible for ensuring the all
scheduled events are released to the members and the public well in advance on any
event.
c) The Board of Directors will hold quarterly meeting whether in-person or be conference.
Members reserve the right to request to be present for these meetings and to present any
issues or concerns that they may have.
d) The Board of Directors reserves the right to cancel any event pertaining to S.H.I.P.
Enterprises, LLC, including but not limited to: meeting, tournaments, or award
ceremonies. Reasons for cancellation include but are not limited to: inclement weather,
loss of venue, lack of participation, unsafe lake conditions, lack of permitting, etc.)
Section 4: Entry Fees and Registration Requirements
a) Registration Requirements: Prior to registering for a tournament, all anglers must have
paid the 2025 membership fee (unless Youth under 17), agreed to abide by the Code of
Conduct, and signed a Waiver of Release.
b) Entry Fees: The entry fee for all qualifying events will be $150.00 (USD) per team. The
funds will be disbursed as follows:
$90.00 Event Payout – Overall Weight
$10.00 Event Payout – Big Fish
$10.00 Championship – Bonus Pot
$10.00 Championship – Angler of the Year
$30.00 Staff Compensation per event
c) Registration Payments: Anglers may register online (www.pelicancrappieclub.com)
or may register in person with cash payment. Arrangements for that must be made and
approved by the Tournament Director by the registration deadline (see below). Anglers
choosing to register online are subject to the online transaction fee.
d) Registration Deadline: Anglers must be registered and paid in full no later than 9 pm on
the Friday before each tournament, unless an extension is granted by the Tournament
Director.
e) Reimbursement of Entry Fees: Registration fees are non-refundable unless deemed
so necessary by the Board of Directors. In the event that a tournament is cancelled, those
entry fees will be rolled over to the next tournament via voucher.
Section 5: State and Federal Laws
a) All members participating in any event pertaining to S.H.I.P. Enterprises, LLC, must
abide by all federal and state laws during the commencement of any event hosted by
this organization. Ignorance to the law is no excuse and anglers are responsible for
ensuring that they know creel limits on each lake.
b) Anglers are responsible for obtaining fishing licenses, boat permits, paying launch fees
and parking fees when required to do so.
c) Any member found to be in direct violation of any state or federal law, whether
intentional or unintentional, will be subject to disqualification from the event or have
their membership revoked. Any angler that observes a violation must report it to the
Tournament Director immediately. The Tournament Directors decision is final.
Section 6: Life Jackets (PFD’s) and Kill-Switches
a) All anglers aboard any vessel participating in an event hosted by S.H.I.P. Enterprises,
LLC will be required to wear a U.S. Coast Guard approved life jacket any time the
large motor is cranked and in gear, even at an idol, in forward or reverse.
b) The driver of the vessel must have a kill-switch attached to their life jacket or their body
as directed by both federal and state law until the motor is turned off.
c) Youth anglers must wear their life jacket as directed by federal and state law.
d) Any member found to be in violation will be subject to disqualification from the event.
Section 7: Boats and Motors
a) For the safety of all contestants, participating boats must be 16 feet or longer in length,
propeller driven and equipped with an operable ignition kill switch. The vessel itself
must be safe for use and all required lighting must be operational. Should the
Tournament Director deem a vessel unsafe, the angler may not proceed in the tournament
with that vessel.
b) Pirogues, inflatables, and kayaks are not permitted to be used during qualifying events.
c) Go-Devils and vessels equipped with surface-drive motors are not permitted unless
allowed by the Tournament Director if there would be no advantage to the angler
accessing water that is inaccessible by other anglers. (Example: May be allowed at Lake
D’arbonne, but would definitely not be allowed on the Ouachita River.)
d) Anglers must fish from the same vessel that they go through boat check in. Anglers are
not permitted to swap boats for any reason unless approved by the Tournament Director
(see subsection e).
e) Mechanical Failure: In the event of mechanical failure, the Tournament Director must
be notified immediately by the anglers in the vessel. Anglers will be permitted to
transfer their equipment and fish to another vessel AFTER that boat has been checked by
a tournament official. Nothing should be swapped unless in the presence of a tournament
official, unless the need to swap is immediate due to a capsizing vessel.
f) All participating anglers must remain in their vessel at all times and are not permitted to
exit the vessel during tournament hours unless approved by the Tournament Director or
unless emergency circumstances exist. Anglers may not leave their vessel to land a fish
or access waters that are not accessible from their boat. Anglers found to have left their
vessel outside of the aforementioned provisions will be disqualified from the event.
Section 8: Use of Cell Phones or Communication Devices
a) Cell phones and other communication devices may not be used in any capacity during
tournament hours to gain a competitive advantage. Anglers may not solicit anyone
to gather information on their behalf.
b) Disclosure of Location: Anglers participating in the tournament may not share the
location of any other angler or team during tournament hours.
Section 9: Poles and Baits
a) Each team is limited to the use of (8) poles during tournament hours unless state or
federal law only allows a lesser amount. Teams may have spare rods in their vessel, but
may not have more than (8) in use at one time. Rod and reel combos are allowed.
b) A maximum of two baits per pole may be used during tournament hours in accordance
state law.
c) Live bait is allowed to be used during tournament hours but must NOT be in your
livewell with your fish or in your weigh-bag at the weigh-in.
d) Any angler who presents fish to the weigh-in that are “choking” on live bait or to present
live bait within their weigh-bag will be disqualified immediately.
Section 10: Compensation to Others
a) Members may not hire, compensate, or offer compensation in any form to anyone for
the following: Compete as a team member, marking of fishing spots or spotting of fish,
marking of locations of other anglers during pre-fishing or during the tournament, or to
gain any form of competitive advantage (30) days prior to a tournament.
b) Anglers may not hire a professional guide service for the sole purposes of marking
spots (30) days prior to the event.
c) Licensed guides are not permitted to participate in any tournament while on a guide
trip that they are being paid for.
d) Hole-sitting is not permitted under any circumstance.
Section 11: Use of Alcohol or Controlled Dangerous Substances
a) All members participating in any event pertaining to S.H.I.P. Enterprises, LLC, will
refrain from the use of controlled danger substances (unless prescribed by a physician)
or consumption of alcohol until the tournament is over.
b) Tournaments are declared as officially being over once the 30-minute grievance period
has passed after the last weigh-in and all funds have been disbursed.
c) Anglers may not have any alcohol on their vessel during tournament hours, even if
concealed in an ice chest or container of any kind.
d) Any angler that appears to under the influence during tournament hours or at boat
check will not be permitted to proceed, and is subject to disciplinary action.
Section 12: Weather and Safety Delays
a) The Tournament Director reserves the right to cancel or delay any event pertaining to
this organization due to weather (rain, sleet, snow, lightening, high winds, high water,
etc.) The safety of all members and their property is the highest priority.
b) All weather delays will be announced within minutes of that decision being made by
the Tournament Director.
c) The Board of Directors will make all efforts to ensure that cancellations are
announced 24 hours in advance.
d) Any registration fees collected for a cancelled event will be rolled over to the
following event. The Board of Directors can initiate refunds if exigent circumstances
exist.
e) Any member who does not immediately leave the water once a weather delay is called
will be disqualified from the event.
f) Lightening will ALWAYS be grounds for a delay.
g) The Tournament Director reserves the right to extend the weigh-in time if the delay
is only temporary and conditions improve.
h) In the event of a major delay, anglers are to report to the weigh-in site to check in their
fish if and only if it is safe to do so. Anglers will not be penalized for dead fish in this
scenario.
i) Below freezing temperatures on the day before or day of an event will automatically
default the start and end time to 8 am to 2 pm if the roads/ramps are accessible.
Section 13: Fishable Waters
a) Definition: Fishable waters is defined as any area of the designated lake that a
tournament official can safely access any team by way of water from the location of
the ramp at the boat check site. Teams may not remove any portion of their vessel
or accessory from their vessel to go under low bridges or trees.
b) Members may not fish any area of the designated lake that are marked “off limits” by
tournament officials, Federal or State law, private land owners, or any waters that
would require the angler to leave his vessel to access.
c) Members may not fish within (50) feet of a marina gas pump.
d) Members may not fish within (50) feet of any other competitor.
Section 14: Off- Limits Time
a) Off-Limits time for each Open Qualifier and the Championship will be at 4 pm the
day before the start of each event. (Friday before for Open Qualifiers and Thursday
October 30, 2025 for the Championship. ***MAJORITY RULE***
b) Angler and their vessels must be off of and out of the water by the off-limits time.
Anglers found be to fishing on the designated lake or any other lake, either by boat
land or pier, will be disqualified from the event.
b) The Tournament Director reserves the right to adjust the off-limits time and will
announce any changes.
c) Anglers who live on the designated lake or have a rental property with a boat lift are
not required to trailer their vessels, but the boat must be lifted out of the water at
4:00 pm.
Section 15: Staging or Retrieving of Fish in a Holding Device
a) Anglers may NOT place any crappie in a basket, hoop net, or any form of holding
device for the purpose of retrieving them during tournament hours. (This does not
apply to the live well of your boat or weigh-in coolers.)
b) Anglers may not have someone else place crappie in a basket, hoop net, or any other
form of holding device to be retrieved during tournament hours.
c) Anglers may not receive a crappie from any other vessel or angler during tournament
hours. All crappie weighed in must be caught from the angler’s vessel.
d) Any member found to have fish staged or retrieve staged fish, whether it is theirs or
not, will be disqualified immediately and their membership will be revoked.
Section 16: Mandatory Boat Checks
a) Boat checks for any and all events pertaining to S.H.I.P. Enterprises, LLC, are
mandatory. There is no exception to this rule at any time. Anglers MUST complete
the mandatory boat check PRIOR to competing in the event. Both anglers in a team
must be present at the time of boat check.
b) Boat check locations, start and end times will be set forth by the Tournament
Director, and provided to all participants well in advance. The Tournament
Director will ensure that all participants are advised of any changes in a timely
manner.
c) By participating in any event pertaining to S.H.I.P. Enterprises, LLC, participants
must allow Tournament Officials to come upon and inspect their vessels. Any refusal
to comply will result in immediate disqualification from the event.
d) Any participant or team that fails to complete the mandatory boat check will not be
allowed to enter the weigh-in line or compete any further in the event.
e) Any participant or team that fails to complete the mandatory boat check will not be
reimbursed for the registration fee.
f) Any Tournament Official boarding a participant’s vessel must be acting under the
official capacity and scope of their duties specific to the event being held for any of
the aforementioned to be applicable.
g) The Tournament Director reserves the right to board any vessel during
the commission of an event if deemed so necessary. The Tournament Director
must announce their presence and must not interfere with the catching of any
legal fish in doing so.
h) Anglers will be provided a wrist band once their boat has been checked and they
must keep it on until the commencement of the event.
Section 17: Launching
a) The Tournament Director will be responsible for determining the launching location
and all times associated to an event (lines-in, lines-out, weigh-in line, etc).
b) Trailerable Events: The Tournament Director will determine whether angler’s
can travel to another launching site after boat check or not for each event. This will
be based on the size of the designated lake, roster size, parking availability, and
overall safety to the anglers.
c) If the Tournament Director deems an event “not trailerable”, anglers must launch
their vessels from the designated location provided by the Tournament Director.
d) If the Tournament Director deems an event “trailerable”, anglers will be allowed
to travel to any public ramp accessible by all to the designated lake of competition
after they have completed the mandatory boat check.
e) All participants must come through the boat check line by way of truck/trailer unless
they live on the lake of competition or have prior authorization to come by water.
f) Once the event begins, anglers are not permitted to leave their vessels if they intend
to continue the competition unless exigent circumstances exist (emergency, restroom
break, etc.) The angler must contact the Tournament Director immediately if they
do leave their vessel for any reason.
g) Once the event begins, anglers are not permitted to receive any item from any other
vessel, person, or merchandiser (store) that may give them a competitive advantage
in any way.
h) Once launched, anglers are NOT permitted to load their vessels to move to another
area of the lake by way of truck/trailer.
i) Any angler or team found to be out of their vessel without authorization, will be
disqualified from the event.
j) All vessels entering the waterway before safelight must have properly functioning
navigation lighting. Should the navigational lighting fail, the vessel must remain at
the ramp until safelight (safely navigate the water by natural light).
Section 18: Lines-In, Lines-Out and Weigh-In Deadline
a) The Tournament Director will designate the hours of competition for each event
and announce those times well in advance.
b) Lines-In: Lines-in will be defined as the set time that anglers are allowed to begin
fishing in an event. Anglers are not permitted to enter a bait, weight, hook, or their
line in the water prior to this time. Any angler that lands a fish prior to this time will
be disqualified from the event. Anglers are permitted to deploy their trolling motor,
power electronics and track fish prior to this time, but must not drop a bait on them.
c) Lines-Out: Lines-out will be defined as the set time that anglers must stop fishing
in an event. Anglers must remove all baits, weights, hooks, and lines from the water
at this time. Any fish landed after this time will not be allowed in the weigh-in line.
Anglers must immediately exit the water at this time.
d) Weigh-In Line Deadline: Defined as the time set forth by the Tournament Director
that anglers must be in line to check their fish in. (Typically, 1 hour after lines-out.)
Anglers not present in the line at this time will be disqualified. Any team facing an
emergency prohibiting them from arriving by this time must contact the Tournament
Director prior to the passing of this time. Teams will be permitted to continue in the
competition only if the Tournament Director deems the emergency unavoidable.
The Tournament Director may deny an extension if the circumstances are not
excusable. This decision will be final.
e) All Open Qualifiers and the Championship will start at safelight and end at 2 pm,
unless otherwise designated by the Tournament Director. ***MAJORITY RULE***
Section 19: Early Weigh-In and Use of Recovery Tanks
a) The Tournament Director will make all efforts to have the scale and Recovery Tanks
prepared for each event no later than 9:00 am for early weigh-ins.
b) Anglers will be allowed to bring a crappie to the weigh-in site early in the event that
there is a legitimate concern for the livelihood of that fish, or if there is a live-well
issue on the boat. The crappie must be alive once it arrives to be weighed. Anglers
MUST bring the fish by boat to the weigh-in site.
c) Any live crappie brought in will be weighed by the Weigh Master and will lock in as
one of the team’s 5 fish. Anglers may not replace this weight should they catch a
larger fish that would have culled this one. Anglers will be provided a receipt for the
weight of the fish and they must provide that receipt to the Weigh Master when
coming upon the stage.
d) Teams will be not penalized if the fish does not survive, as long as it was alive upon
arrival.
e) All crappie weighed in during each event must be placed in the recovery tanks.
Anglers are not permitted to harvest any of the crappie weighed in unless they are
in such a state that recovery is not probable. The Tournament Director may allow
a team to harvest a crappie for the purposes of having it mounted.
Section 20: Qualifying Fish for Weigh-In
a) Crappie presented at weigh-in must have been caught during official tournament
hours, only on the waters of the designated lake by the registered team.
b) All anglers must abide by each lake’s creel limit as stated in state and federal law.
c) Teams may only weigh-in 5 LIVE CRAPPIE per event, unless the Tournament
Directors includes a “dink” award.
d) Teams may only have 7 crappie in their live-well during the tournament.
e) Anglers are permitted from placing live bait of any kind in the same live-well as the
crappie intended for the weigh-in.
f) Teams entering the weigh-in line may only have 5 fish in their bag or cooler, unless
a “dink” is in play. All fish must be alive and will be checked before entering the
bump tanks for weigh-in. Any team presenting more fish than allowed will be
disqualified.
g) Teams may NOT have live bait of any kind in their weigh-in bag or cooler. Crappie
found to be “choking” on live bait will not be permitted to enter the weigh-in line.
h) In the event that a team is not sure whether a fish is alive or not, they are to notify a
Tournament Official immediately before they enter the weigh-in line so a ruling can
be made. If a fish is declared dead by a Tournament Official, that decision is final
and the team will be allowed to retrieve a reserve. (THIS HAS TO HAPPEN PRIOR
TO ENTERING THE WEIGH-IN LINE.)
i) The liveliness of fish will be determined by laying the fish on a flat surface to await
movement of any kind. Tournament Officials may lay the fish in a tank to look for
signs of life, but will not use the “finger in throat” method. The Tournament
Director will make all efforts to find any sign of life before declaring a fish dead.
j) Once a team’s fish have been checked and all fish declared alive, the team may
proceed in the competition. If any of the fish die after being checked, the team will
not be penalized and the fish will be weighed.
k) Anglers are permitted to leave a cull tag attached their Big Fish only.
l) Anglers may use belly-weights during the tournament and in their weigh-in
bags or coolers, but the angler MUST notify the Tournament Official at the
check-in station that they are in place. The angler MUST remove all belly weights
once the fish have been removed from their bag or cooler, before the crappie are
transferred to a mesh bag.
m) Conservation Tags – Any crappie presented that has a conservation tag will be
weighed in with that tag, as it is a part of their body.
n) Deep Hook-Sets: In the event that a crappie is hooked deep in the throat or gill and
the angler believes removing it would kill the fish, they can leave the hook/jig in the
fish’s throat or gill until they arrive at the check-in station. The angler MUST notify
the Tournament Official that a jig or hook is in the fish and it will be removed. The
fish must still be alive when presented to the check-in station. If the fish dies as a
result of the hook/jig being removed by a Tournament Official, the angler will not
not be penalized and will be able to proceed to weigh-in with the fish. If the angler
fails to notify the Tournament Official at check-in and the fish proceeds to
the weigh-in with the additional weight of the hook/jig, the fish will be removed
from the mesh bag and not weighed. The team may face disqualification if believed
this was done with malicious intent to offset the true weight of the fish.
Section 21: Scales
a) S.H.I.P. Enterprises, LLC. is solely responsible for ensuring that the scales use in any event are certified through the State of Louisiana’s Department of Forestry and Agriculture.
b) S.H.I.P. Enterprises, LLC. will have a certified Weigh Master at each event.
c) No member of S.H.I.P. Enterprises, LLC or Tournament Official shall intentionally hinder the accuracy of the scales or attempt to tamper with the scales in any way.
Section 22: Protests and Grievances
a) Any member that wishes to protest the results of an event or file a grievance must do so in writing within 30 minutes of the final weigh-in.
b) The protest or grievance must site which rule was violated, and provide some form of evidence to substantiate the complaint.
c) The Tournament Director will investigate all grievances filed and make a final ruling based solely on evidence presented by both the accuser and the accused.
d) Disbursements of funds will not be made until all grievances have been resolved.
e) If a grievance is filed beyond the 30-minute period and there is sufficient evidence to suggest a winner violated a rule that would have affected the overall outcome of the Tournament Director may proceed with that grievance and place a “hold” on any funds disbursed.
f) Any angler or team found to be in direct violation of any rule with malicious intent will have their membership revoked and will be banned for the remainder of the season. (Unanimous vote from the Board of Directors required.)
g) Any angler or team found to have filed a false grievance with malicious intent and no evidence to substantiate their claim will have their membership revoked and will be banned for the remainder of the season. (Unanimous vote required.
h) Any angler or team under investigation for a rule violation will be suspended until the matter is resolved.
Section 23: Polygraph Test
a) All anglers participating in an event and all Tournament Officials are subject to submit to a polygraph exam at the request of the Tournament Director or by random draw. All teams who accumulate any funds are subject to this.
b) The Tournament Director is subject to submit to a polygraph exam at the request of any member of the Board of Directors at any time.
c) S.H.I.P. Enterprises, LLC, will be responsible for hiring an official polygraph examiner should one be required.
d) Any angler or Tournament Official that refuses to voluntarily submit to a polygraph exam when requested will be suspended until further investigation by the Board of Directors.
Section 24: Teams & Boat Occupancy
a) Members registering for open events may do so as a single angler or as a team of two.
b) If participating as a team, both members must establish as a team on their membership registration form and notify the Tournament Director once they have agreed to compete together (if beyond the initial membership registration)
c) Once established as a team, both members must continue to compete/register together for the duration of the season to continue accruing Angler of the Year points simultaneously, even if one of the members is not present at the event. If a team wishes to disperse, both members will equally split all points accrued together as a team. (Exception in next section)
d) Should a member within a team become unable to compete any further in the year due to a medical circumstance, the remaining member of the team will not split points and will be allowed to add a new team mate without penalty within the following provisions:
- The new team mate must be a new member to P.C.C. and cannot have
participated in any other event in the 2025 season. (MAJORITY RULE)
e) Boat Occupancy: A third partner is allowed to be in the vessel during an event only if they are under the age of 16 and one of the team members is their parent/guardian. There must be Release & Waiver of Liability filled out and signed by the parent/guardian prior to the event starting. (This will not fall under Adult/Youth Division.
f) Spectators are not allowed to be in the vessel with a member or a team who is participating in an event during tournament hours.
Section 25: Use of Forward-Facing Sonar and Marine Electronics
a) Members competing in an event may use marine electronics such as forward facing sonar (Livescope or active target), down or side imaging, or traditional depth finders. (Exception in next section)
b) Electronics may be powered on prior to the designated lines-in time, but anglers may not drop a line in the water until the official start time.
***MAJORITY RULE***
c) Members competing in the Non-Livescope Bracket are not allowed to use forward-facing sonar at any time during competition. Members whose boat are equipped with forward-facing.
Section 26: Tie Breakers
a) Overall Weight Tie – In the event of an overall weight tie during an Open Qualifier or the Championship, the Big Fish weighed by each tying team will act as the deciding factor on the break. If both tying teams have the same weight on their overall weight and Big Fish, both teams will split to pot in both categories.
b) Big Fish Tie – In the event of a tie on Big Fish, both teams will split the pot.
c) Angler of the Year – In the event two teams are tied in the final Angler of the Year race, the Big Fish weighed at the Championship will act as the deciding factor on the break. In the event both are tied, we will review all of the Big Fish weighed by both teams in the Open Qualifiers, largest crappie weighed wins.
Section 27: Payout Methods
a) All payments coming directly from S.H.I.P. Enterprises, L.L.C. will be done so via a check. Payments will only be made in cash if there is an angler buy-in “side pot”.
b) Any angler who earns more than $600.00 (USD) throughout the season will be required to fill out a 10-99. Those will be turned over to our CPA, Taylor & Wilkes for processing.
c) Anglers are responsible to cash all checks provided to them within the validation period of that check, 180 days. If the check is not cashed within that period, S.H.I.P. Enterprises, L.L.C. will not reissue the check unless approved by Treasurer Russ Love.
d) Payouts in the Open Qualifiers and Championship will be done as follows:
- First 15 boats, paying 3 spots. An additional spot will be added for every
5 boats after that once the 5th numerical is reached. (MAJORITY RULE)
Section 28: Championship Location & Qualification
a) For Championship Qualification, teams must have been on the roster for (3) Open Qualifiers throughout the regular season, of those, they must have been physically present to compete in at least (2). Teams may “register only” to obtain the final qualification without having the be physically present.
b) If fishing as a team, both anglers must be present together to fish in at least (2) events for both members to qualify for the Championship, and registered together for the final qualification.
c) Championship will be a 2-day event on Lake D’arbonne. (MAJORITY RULE) Mandatory Rules Meeting: Thursday, October 30, 2025 Championship: Friday, October 31, 2025 thru Saturday, November 1, 2025 Awards Ceremony: Friday, November 1, 2025 at 6:00 pm.
d) Entry Fee for the Championship will be $200.00 (USD)
– $150 to payout -$50 to staff compensation
Section 29: Angler of the Year
a) Divisions – There will be (6) separate divisions in the Angler of the Year race in 2025. Anglers/teams will be able to choose which category they compete in under certain circumstances (see following provisions).
Male / Female Adult / Youth (16-)
Senior (60+ both members) Non-Livescope
Pro Division (see provisions) Amateur Division
1) Male / Female – Team is made up of one male and one female.
2) Senior – Age is 60+. If fishing as a team, both members must be 60+.
3) Adult / Youth – Youth must be 16 or under accompanied by parent or guardian.
4) Non-Livescope – All anglers in the non-livescope bracket compete in the same AOY bracket unless 10 teams compete in more than (2) events.
5) Pro Division – All licensed guides must compete in this division. Anyone who earned more than $2,000.00 (USD) in any way from fishing in 2024 via tournament winnings or pro-staff compensation must compete in this division.
**Anglers or Teams who do NOT meet these parameters may voluntarily choose to compete in this division. Indicate on Membership Registration form. Once you commit, you cannot retract at any point throughout the season.**
6) Amateur Division – Non-professional anglers or teams.
b) Angler of the Year will be decided by each team’s total accumulated points
throughout the 2025 season in Open Qualifiers, but we will CULL one.

Section 30: Caltom’s Big Crappie of the Year Pot
a) Caltom Properties, LLC is hosting the Biggest Crappie of the Year side-pot, with an initial contribution of $500.00 into the pot. This will be a one-time payout pot that will conclude at the Championship.
b) Teams wishing to compete must pay an entry fee of $100.00 and it must be paid (7) days prior to the start of an Open Qualifier for the weights of that tournament to count. (MAJORITY RULE)
c) Entry fee is not refundable unless deemed so necessary by the Board of Directors.
d) 100% Payout competition! PCC will not withhold any funds from this pot.
e) 1st and 2nd Place only regardless of the amount of entries. Payout will be 60/40.
